I have been selling these two products on Amazon for many years.

I have just gone in to update a new photo to each product and it wont let me save.

It says there is a problem with the EXTERNAL PRODUCT ID (which I have not touched) which I have to fix.

It says - Value does not satisfy ISBN/UCCID checksum requirements for attribute 'externally_assigned_product_identifier'. The value specified does not meet the minimum requirement of 13 characters.

What do I do as this section is locked? I haven't changed anything and yet it is now broken.

Can anyone help?

How do I complete the external product ID box when listing a handmade product which is GTIN... Won't let me ignore it.

I have a quick question regarding selling items as 'New' when purchased from a wholesaler or even a local retailer. I see many people doing retail and online arbitrage but have never done it myself and don't want to take any risks here.

If the product is purchased from a reputable shop (say Tesco for example) and sealed in perfect condition with no defects, and you're ungated (or don't require approval), can it be listed as 'New'?

Amazon policy states:

'In order for your inventory to be sold as New on Amazon, it must arrive at the fulfilment centre in a good condition and without defects.

Products listed as "New"

Items sold as "New" need to be in brand new, unused condition.'

However, I have heard of Amazon suspending accounts over authenticity claims where the seller can't provide an official letter from the brand or licensed distributor that they are allowed to sell the product or guarantee its authenticity, despite it clearly being a genuine product.

Can someone please clarify Amazon's position when listing items as 'New'?
