Royal Mail - Tracking information is not available for this service
Hello All,
I noticed a strange result in my VTR report today, and investigated using the Royal Mail Tracking Site.
This Site is now reporting "Tracking information is not available for this service" for the large letters and small parcels I've sent, paying via the Post Office, and using Tracking Numbers that were valid yesterday and which generated a DELIVERED resut then!
This happened around 10 months ago and it was a R. M. glitch, so I hope that is what's happened again!
But, if R. M. have changed their system and Amazon use it to Verify packages my VTR will drop to 0% and I'll be suspended, unless I use Amazon's Buy Shipping (which I prefer not to do in order to support my local Post Office)
Here's HOPING it's a glitch
Brian!

Like you I do like to support my local, PO, being in a semi-rural area. However, using 'Buy Shipping' for small parcels is 50p cheaper than over the counter at the PO, so if you are counting the pennies it really is a no-brainer . The PO does get a small remuneration for scanning your parcels and LL and giving you the POP receipt, so I now do use Buy Shipping for most of my shipments (not all).
I guess it could be a glitch too, though ?

I actually checked Click & Drop today for an delivery of a LL that a customer stated as non-delivered (off Amazon) and that too has the message you have seen. Its the first time I have seen this.
I have just checked the same one a few minutes ago after reading your post and it now says an update will be given when delivery attempted (the normal one I would expect to see).
Looks like glitch fixed. I would try again.

I've tried tracking a few CRL labels today and have gotten quite a lot of try again later error messages, so I'm guessing the system is down.
If I had to guess, I'd say the flood of parents checking for updates on their kids' school items on the weekend may have crashed the servers.
