How can i change shipping method for an individual seller

Hi,
Im new to amazon seller central and i can see that when i listed an item the shipping method is set to default by amazon. As im going to post my product myself and not with FBA how can i change this default setting as its coming to £4.50 something for the postage and i dont think anyone will pay £4 plus on postage for a £4 product.

can someone please guide me

Thanks

you can’t - you need to be on the £30 a month professional selling plan to set your own shipping rates

hmm its not easy for individual sellers to sell on amazon.

i guess i might have to change my product to get on the market first to get the subs.

thank you for your help

just to double check too that you aren’t confusing the £30 a month professional selling plan with business entity ?

If you are buying or making to sell for a profit, you must be registered as a business - there is no charge for this

In order to set up your own shipping costs, you must pay for the professional selling plan

Another question. Would i be able to register myself as a Brand ?

At the moment i am using ‘generic’ brand to list my products

@Shrewsbury_Marine_S1 and @The_Little_Shop thank you for your reply.

so i’ll have to register with HMRC as i have listed my products on amazon and register here as a business no mater i manage to sell anything or not?

Oh dear, I am going to have to say “Here we go again” !
Nothing against you, The_Style_And_Trends, as tbh Amazon do not make it at all clear on their sign up page.
There is an Individual Seller Account - that is where you can only sell your own second-hand items, and there is the Individual Selling Plan where you do not need to pay a monthly fee to sell.
The Individual Account is NOT the same as being a sole-trader, and that is probably what you need to register as with HMRC (can be done online)
As said, as soon as you start buying and selling new items you are a Business and must be registered as such with both HMRC and Amazon. You’ll need to keep accounts and submit an annual tax return for your self-employed business.

Just an update.

I sent an email to amazon to confirm if i need to register with HMRC in order to sell new items on amazon as an individual seller? They said i do not need to register with HMRC to sell items on amazon as an individual seller. I will only have to register if im based outside the europe and selling goods in the europe.

This is the link they sent:

Thank you everyone for your reply.

Im going to register with HMRC. I have also experienced that SS have no clue what are they saying. Their answers are different for the same question.
