Closing Amazon Europe Accounts is a Scam

I want to post here after my six month ordeal trying to close my European Amazon accounts because Amazon offers no service, no help, no accountabiliy, NOTHING. They just constantly and mindlessly charge my credit card and put me through the same repettiive cycle of saying I can’t close my account because of a balance owing.

Setting up 9 European markets was pretty easy and straightforward. Once I realized the pain that Brexit caused, we moved our main store to Germany, and then learned how difficult it was to deal with German VAT, French VAT, Italian VAT…etc etc so we decided to eat our loss and close our store(s) and that’s where the bs starts. We had at least seven stores that NEVER SOLD AN ITEM, yet found out we’re being charged for them. What? How did this happen?? We never set up a store in Turkey but one day there are charges on my credit card for Turkish Lira and somehow a sale goes to Turkey.

I try to close accounts one market at a time but can’t because there’s a balance owing. What? How? we didn’t sell or do any business there. Customer service sends back the same stupid cut and paste answer how to close accounts that just lead back in the same circle.

I’m being charged 534.30 Euros each month, I downgrade to individual seller, they still charge me 335 Euros per month. I ask for a callbacks and get none, I try to do the chatting and they give me an american number and I call that and they say, sorry you’re dealing in the UK, call them. They give me a number. The UK number says sorry we are normal Amazon buyer customer service. You have to deal with seller central customer service. Ok, but guess what? No phone number to call. I have opened over 15 cases and the best Amazon can do is change the status to Transferred, then stop replying to messages, then close the case and YET they still charge my credit card.

This is ridiculous bordering on the insane and no where, no how do they provide any service any help, yet they have no problem to charge my credit card and cause me issues and aggrivations.

If anyone knows the name of a good solicitor or what office I should contact in the UK and the EU to complain and initiate legal action against this monstrosity please advise. If you know the name of a good journalist or news source please share. I have everything very documented. I can only imagine how much money they are making each money doing the same thing to others. This is seriously unethical, immoral, and surely must be illegal too!

I cannot help at all really as only sell in UK, but from reading other similar posts on the forum these charges are possibly for VAT services.
Hopefully someone more informed than me will be along to help/advise.

Sounds like you have stock in fba warehouses and or vat service fees

If you go to reports - payments - transaction view on each site , it will tell you what the charges are for
