How do you avoid Premium Shipping eligibility suspension
Hello everyone,
I’d like to know how to avoid being suspended from offering premium shipping as I’ve been suspended twice and just got reinstated.
I used RM tracked 24 and this has been the cause for suspension on the two occasions as RM did not deliver on time.
As RM Track 24 is just a delivery aim and not guaranteed, do I offer the guaranteed service as one day delivery instead?
Reading a previous thread, I understand that a seller will also be penalized and could have the premium shipping eligibility option suspended if the customer is not at home to take the delivery!
What a palava! Can one navigate this premium shipping maze successfully without getting suspended?
Thank you in anticipation of your responses.
Cheers!

Premium = more expensive. Send with a service that has better delivery targets and charge accordingly.
According to Amazon documentation an attempted delivery counts as meeting the target (providing you are using a properly tracked service of course).

…Absolutely can! (my advice is mainly for FBM sellers) Initially, allow your finger to hover over the relevant button that offers your selling account premium shipping…and then at the very last second remove your finger from the vicinity of the button and sigh a relief that you made the right decision before it was too late.
I recommend sellers use this technique to navigate the vast majority of Amazons suggestions regarding new services, badges or premium entitlements toward an FBM account as the vast majority of these suggestions are as likely to be detrimental to a sellers account than they ever could be beneficial!
There ya go…done and done

Royal mail 24 only costs you £1.20+vat, and how much are you charging for next day?..
Theres no guarantee it will arrive the next day and customers who pay extra, expect nothing less.
But in fairness I have the same issue, I only offer second day and actually send the parcels special delivery, so even though they are arriving a day early I still get the suspension so I just turn it off.

Got to use a service courier like DPD to make the Premium shipping work on Amazon. Its ironic as Amazon recommends Royal Mail RM24 and RM48 tracked to sellers, but look at the small print on Royal Mail and these are not guaranteed services.
We use to send out 2 day premium using RM tracked 48 and it was useless and had to up the service to RM tracked 24 which was only slightly better. We use to get suspended after a busy periods as Royal Mail never met the targets on volume. 2 Christmas’s ago Royal Mails delivery performance for us was around 63% success for tracked items when their target was 97%, you can imagine what that did to our performance metrics, hence the move to DPD.

I’m currently on my third suspension from the service. In each case it has been because the customer has not been in to accept a Special Delivery item where delivery was attempted the next day.
There doesn’t appear to be anything we can do about this. The tracking shows delivery attempted on time but Amazon just record it as a miss and being our fault.
It’s not really bothered me too much in the past, but from next week we are no longer allowed to offer Expedited shipping, so while these suspensions are in place, we are left only offering standard shipping, which could cost us a few sales.

Don’t offer it pure and simple, the grief and hassle it causes trying to meet the target when you have absolutely ZERO control over the delivery phase of the process, is not worth the few extra sales it brings in.
The only way to guarantee the delivery is to either pay large for a guaranteed delivery service with a courier or deliver it yourself. RM tracked 48/24 are not worth the price you pay, as others have said it is not a guaranteed service and you have no cover with Amazon when it goes pear shaped as it will because Royal Mail!

I have just come off suspension for using next day guaranteed service from royal mail because one item got mis routed
Dealing with couriers from parcel force / royal mail / dx - they all loose / mis route packages
Amazon’s target for next day delivery is 95 - 97%
Customer satisfaction setting this so high or pushing you to stock products with amazon?
I would be interested to know the procedure with getting off suspension? What have you got to do?

we use dpd for premium shipped orders and have never had an issue

UPS Express or RM Special Delivery have never let us down and we have never been suspended using them - RM tracked 24 & 48 are just a glorified 1st and 2nd class and aren’t reliable when it comes to Premium shipping.
