Suspended account

Hi,

I hope someone can help with this.

I am not a regular seller on amazon. In the past 7-8 years I have sold about 5-7 items on amazon. Last month I sold a mobile phone and prior to that I hadn’t used amazon for selling for about 3 years.

Amazon have suspended my account and said i no longer have selling privileges and I have been passed from pillar to pillar to get my account reinstated. They said they sent me emails asking me to upload ID for verification but i hadn’t received any emails. About 5 years ago i remember uploading my passport for them to verify. And why couldn’t they ask for ID before i put the listing on, why wait for it sell first and then on top of that keep hold of my money?

My unavailable balance is £194.

Every time i log on to my seller account the following message appears: “This e-mail address is associated with a deactivated seller account. Please contact seller-performance@amazon.com to request reactivation of your account.”

I sent an email to that account and i got an automated email saying no seller account exists with this email address. I then opened another case log and they closed it saying they will transfer the case to another department who will then reopen a case and get back to me. Its been a few days and i’ve not heard anything.

Also, when I log on to my seller account it also says “By clicking on Agree and Continue you agree and accept the following policies, agreements and notices”, I click on agree & continue and all it does it just refresh the page.

I wanted to use the money to buy some stuff for my baby but they are withholding my funds. What can i do? It;s driving me nuts

Old dormant accounts have generally been closed by Amazon as fraudsters were accessing them for illicit purposes. Not sure how you have been able to list this if your account was completely closed though!

You will need to go through the verification stage (which can take weeks/months) to get your account active again - this is stricter that what used to be required several years ago. They will want your passport id and proof of address for instance - if you sold this phone as “New” they may require your UTR from HMRC

If they have transferred your case log then its a waiting game. A few days wait is nothing to Amazon - might be a lot longer to get a response.

I am not sure how anyone can you help you.

Simply send required documents to Amazon as requested to reinstate your account. Check your spam\junk folder on the email account registered with Amazon and reply to those messages.

Usually copies of those messages can also be found in your Amazon’s Seller account. Ensure you have up-to-date email account and mobile phone numbers registered on your Amazon account for security purposes.

regards

As mentioned before i have sold a few items on amazon in the past and the account was verified. Everything was upto date.

I didn’t know about the 90 day policy, guess i will just have to wait.

Just don’t understand why they let me put a listing on if my account was not upto date. And i buy items from Amazon almost every week

Hi Jav_24,
So you have a few options. I was in similar situation for a month, stuck in limbo. I called them, if you go to through the help pages you can request a call back for your problem. See what they say.

If this fails email managingdirector@amazon.co.uk giving a pragmatic explaintion of your what has happened and attach;

  • Your Passport / Drivers License, ensuring it matches the name you have on Amazon
  • A Bank statement in your name, with your address
  • Credit card statement associated with your Amazon account (the one that pays monthly fees).

You will get this sorted in a few days.
