Amazon cancels order but item already sent out with tracking uploaded?
Buyer purchased item 13th Feb, I confirmed Royal Mail tracking info and uploaded, marking as dispatched (went out 14th Feb). Order was fulfilled by seller type.
Buyer files a return clicking ‘item didn’t arrive in time’ on the 14th February (window was 16th-20th February, in the future). I contact him to say it will arrive in time but feel free to return if needed using pre paid label from amazon.
I go on this morning and the order’s been cancelled. No item, no money, and seemingly no way to contact Amazon (the contact link just links to generic pages?).
Also concerned it will negatively affect the account having an item not arrived in time strike.
What should I do? How can this be avoided?

Yes it was marked as dispatched and tracking uploaded within time.
Thank you for your help all. Inexplicably it seems the chap’s ordered 2- the first one he cancelled immediately after ordering, the second he filed for a return 12 hours after purchase (once already sent out).
What a charmer! The confusion was the same name but the end of the order number differed which got me to twig. Thanks all
At least I know amazon buyers are just as maddening as Ebay ones…!
