Wrong Images attached to my Items

Hi,

New seller on Amazon and i have to say what was meant to be a stress free selling experience has been anything but.

I have imported some items for selling.

None have barcodes EAN, Branding etc on and as such followed the Item not on Amazon.

I uploaded the 9 images taken from the manufacturers website and all appeared well on the page.

I waited the allocated time and looked on my inventory as i was planning on sending the items off FBA , when i noticed the images attached to my product where totally different from what i uploaded. one of which is a totally different product.

Ive tried to help section and managed to get through to 4 different people in the chat.

Ive tried to get a resolution via the email system and was told :

We sincerely regret for any inconvenience caused to you. We understand that this is impacting your business. Please let us check the best way possible to assist you and resolve the issue.

We have reviewed the details and would like to inform you that there is no Image contributed showing from our end to assist you with the update for the listing Images.

Kindly request you to upload Images as per Amazon Image guidelines and provide us the required proof to assist you with the update.

Here is how you can upload images for your listings from your selling account:

  1. From your dashboard, go to Inventory drop-down menu, and select Manage Inventory.
  2. Click the Edit drop-down for each product on the far right, and select Manage Images.
  3. Go to the Images tab and scroll down to the section titled Your image recommendations.
  4. Click on Upload for any of the empty image slots. The MAIN image is the top left image slot in this section of the page.
  5. Select an image from your computer and click Open.
  6. Click Save at the bottom right of the page to add your image to the listing.

We would request you to provide one of these valid forms of documentation to validate the changes:

  • Manufacturer’s or Publisher’s (for books) website URL clearly showing the suggested changes, along with visible product identifier (UPC, EAN, ISBN, etc.), if available.
  • Manufacturer’s catalog (Product User Manual), either scanned image of the physical catalog or PDF version showing the suggested changes, along with visible product identifier (UPC, EAN, ISBN, etc.), if available.
  • High-resolution product pictures, clearly showing the suggested changes, along with a visible product identifier (UPC, EAN, ISBN, etc.).
  • A high-resolution photo of the item in its original packaging showing the product identifier (UPC, EAN, ISBN, etc.) code and the attribute or attributes that you need to change

severely putting a dampening on opening an Amazon business i must admit, all the videos ive watched and pages Ive read seem to be really streamlined so not sure what is causing either the glitches or errors im running into.

if any one could help or point me in the right direction id be grateful.

Ash

unfortunately amazon is anything but

have you bought barcodes from GS1 or have you applied for GTIN exemption ?

Downloaded them from the website so they came up as 1000x1000 Web app and converted them to a .JPG file.

Its potentially looking like a GTIN fault as it doesn’t appear that i have been given the go ahead for the exemption and when i have created the sale of the items it has just linked them up to some other sellers items ( probably same words) which are totally different from mine. I have just reapplied for the GTIN exemption now. I take it they give you a SKU or ASN number for the exemption.

Im going to be selling items that are the same but have different variations, I.e For different Mobiles , do i just setup each as individuals or can these go in variations.

Not youtube videos, I hope? :expressionless:

I’ve been selling here for over 18 years and in BMVD (books and media), at least, things get more restrictive every year.

I have just now attempted to update incorrect images on some rare and out-of-print books but Amazon keeps giving me cut and pastes of the same message you’ve received.

Trying to explain to SS that books have publishers rather than ‘brands’ falls on deaf ears and the end result is a book catalogue that is now littered with incorrect images and information, none of which can be corrected except by adding yet more pointlessly duplicated and incorrectly ‘branded’ ASINs.

It’s ironic that so many new sellers are flooding onto Amazon just at the same time as oldtimers are leaving in droves and/or moving their stock to ebay due to frustration with the catalogue and the 1001 new rules and restrictions that are turning selling here into a miserable, frustrating experience.

As you can see from the picture the images underneath are of the photos that are being added as part of my sale, them when i press save Amazon links up with something totally different.

if you have the items in stock why not just take photos of the items and upload these?

Just an update on my little saga with SS.

I sent 12 (yes 12!) messages to SS and received 12 mostly rote cut and paste replies regarding my attempt to load a Main Image but constantly receiving this error message on the edit page in inventory:

The MAIN image that you have submitted shows a product that is different to the product represented by the ASIN’s existing MAIN image. To resolve this problem, remove or update your contribution’s MAIN image so that it shows the correct product or update your contribution’s identifying information (e.g. UPC, ASIN) so that it corresponds with the product shown in your MAIN image.

I finally received this reply:

Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,

We understand your frustration regarding changes to the images of the product We will assist you with the concern.

We apologize for the delay in resolution.

We understand how important this must be for you to run the business and we sincerely empathize with you.

Upon checking, We could see that he Images does not qualify Amazon’s Images guideline Policy. Hence we could not proceed further with the issue.

If you have any further concerns regarding the same issue or a different issue, please do not RE-OPEN this case. Please reach out to us by opening a new ticket along with the screenshot of the error as it helps us to serve you better.

Thank you for your patience.

Please let us know how we did.

So in fact they didn’t resolve anything and rather than review my previous points and look at my various screenshots, they dismiss the case.

The bit about the image ‘not complying’ is a cop-out as I tried numerous sizes and formats and none were accepted.

I actually seemed to be getting somewhere at one point when a (presumably more senior) SS person removed the existing bad image and then changed something in the ‘backend’ to supposedly make my correct image[s] uploadable.

But the error persists.

It seems to me that there must be a glitch in the system that prevents us from replacing those ‘this is not a real book’ images - I’ve tried a few others and get the same error message as above.

Trying to explain this to SS is hopeless.

It seems they are forbidden from investigating or commenting on anything that might be a fault in the actual Amazon system.

Extremely frustrating that there appears to be no way of getting through to the people that matter at Amazon.
