Random 1 star product ratings with no comment
Hello, I have recently started to receive product ratings of 1 - 3 stars with no comments, on some of my items. They are all items that usually get 5 star ratings and are very popular, and I haven’t changed anything so I am very confused. I didn’t get any bad seller feedback or have any messages from customers. I can’t even see if it was a customer or just a competitor messing up my listings

Hi,
I posted this on another thread a few days ago. I agree with you, it does sound suspicious. Definitely report your concerns and if these are competitors, hopefully they will be removed. If enough sellers do this, just maybe this stupid rating system will be stopped.

We listed our first product at the beginning of June and it was going well until we received the dreaded one-star rating with no text. No way to find out what the problem was, if any, or do anything about it. Seller Support provided no support.
Being our only review it meant that our overall rating was one star so sales dropped to a crawl. We slowly recovered as genuine reviews came in but we probably lost several weeks of momentum.
And then one day, again for no apparent reason, the one-star review just disappeared. One theory we have is that, rather than being malicious, the single star was an error by someone just being careless or in haste (perhaps as a result of being nagged by Amazon to provide a review). Whatever the reason we just had to ride it out.
