Product has been classified as 'Dangerous Good Fulfillable' - what now?

Hi everyone!

I am a new seller and my first product has arrived in the UK. When trying to organise the shipment order, it flagged up as a dangerous good (likely due to the marker pens which come with the product). I have submitted the SDS, and the product has been classified as ‘Dangerous Good Fulfillable’. I have created a case to join the Dangerous Good programme just now, but unsure as to how long this takes.

I am a little confused as to what to do next. Should I:

Create a new listing but remove the pens and resubmit to FBA?
Create a new listing but switch to FBM?
Wait to enrol on the dangerous goods programme?

Thanks for your help! This is definitely an unexpected hiccup and a course of anxiety for me currently so any help would be appreciated

If the item in question is Hazmat, then you will not be able to use FBA until you are on the program.
As this is essentially invite only currently, your going to be on a waiting list. You may/may not get on it.

So to put it bluntly, you simply cannot sell it via FBA. DO NOT create a new listing etc as you will be working around policies.
Why don’t you just simply fulfil the orders yourself? It’s the simplest option at the moment.
And just to be clear, you don’t create a new listing, just a different fulfilment method on the same ASIN.

Thank you!

Okay I understand.

Could I ask why you recommend not creating another listing? If I remove the pens from the listing, is this not perceived to be a different product which then I could submit an exception report to if it flags up? From what I can gather, it is only the pens which are thought to be the dangerous goods in my product.

In terms of FBM, it is a fair bit more taxing in terms of workload but if it has to be done then so be it. But I would rather explore the FBA options if available first.
