Seller Central shows duplicate for ALL my inventory (parent/child variations)

Hi! For some reason EVERY time I create an item w variations, it’s showing twice in my seller central. The childs are listed under parent (can hide by clicking ‘carrot’ to the left) and also below the parent as if it’s not tied to parent (can’t hid with ‘carrot”). But skus/asins are same on both.

I’ve asked for help and of course gotten nowhere w seller support. I’ve been selling on AZ 8 years and this has been happening last 2-3 yrs. I create the child variants at same time I create parent. I am seeing same issue whether I create item manually or via bulk upload.

Makes my inventory management a visual mess.
