Which data to use for RESTOCK DATE & RECOMMENDED QTY? Inventory Planning or Restock Report?
Hi,
Amazon has two reports that provide suggested restock dates + quantity -- the INVENTORY PLANNING report and the RESTOCK REPORT.
Both have similar fields, with "suggested dates" to send inventory and suggested qty.
The issue we are finding is that the IP report seems to be very outdated. Reports on June 18-20th have old data from 6-17 (including old send in dates of 6-17). The report from 6-17 gives data from 6-12... it's all over the place.
Recommendations from IP report and Restock report don't match up.
Which are we suppose to use?

I would recommend using both planning and reporting but IME the restock report includes inbound so it will be more accurate. I have found the planning to not include inbound which can be confusing.
I always recommend keeping 45 to 90 days avaiable consistantly for established listings.

If your product is seasonal or has ups for certain holidays, don't 100% rely on Amazon's assessment. Use your own judgment as well. They can tell you to send in too much OR too little!

I have never used any recommended inventory replenishment. I always send a supply that lasts 60 days. If inventory falls under the 60 day supply, I send another 60 day supply.
