I’m dealing with a VAT issue and wondering if others had a similar experience or have tips on how to reach Amazon’s VAT team.

Amazon claims my business is not EU-established and didn’t collect VAT for a certain period, based on the EU eCommerce VAT rules.

However, the VAT during that time was correctly filed and paid to the German tax office, as my sole proprietorship in Germany remained active until Dec 31, 2023.

In 2023, I moved to Switzerland and set up a GmbH. The Amazon account was updated in Jan 2024, and since then, VAT has been handled properly by Amazon. Still, Amazon is demanding VAT for the transition period — without specifying which transactions or dates are affected — and tells me to reclaim it from the tax office (which is not possible without concrete details).

I’ve sent all documents and proofs, but haven’t heard back for months.

Emails to mdri-exec-escalations@amazon.co.uk go unanswered.

Has anyone dealt with this kind of issue before?

Do you have a working contact for someone at the VAT team?Or suggestions on how to escalate this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated – payouts have been blocked for 5 months and it's seriously hurting our business.

I have a question regarding FBA storage fees. I can find Monthly Storage fees report, but as I understand, it shows how much money I paid for storage, for the items I sold. Am I right? I would like to see total storage fees for the whole inventory, for the whole time and not for the products I sold, but for all products, sold and not sold, which are staying in FBA warehouse. For example I send big amount of products to FBA warehouse, but my sales are low and these products stay in Amazon warehouse for ~5 months. As I understand, each month I am being charged for storage and it doesn't matter if I sell these products or not. Can someone from Amazon explain me how exactly Amazon storage fees work and which reports can help me understand it better?
