Read onlyHello Seller friends!
Prime Day is officially behind us, and we're diving headfirst into analyzing all the amazing deals and busy shopping sprees. But what about your experience? We'd love to hear from you!
Here are some discussion points to get us started:
Share your experiences, insights, and even war stories in the comments below! We can all learn from each other and use this information to prepare for an even more successful Prime Day next year.
For us, Prime Day is counterproductive. We always experience a dip in sales from the day it's announced on TV, until shortly after it finishes. Whenever we've tried to run Prim Day offers, either our products aren't selected, or it's a big washout.
I would be happy if there wasn't another Prime Day ever!
For the first time I ran prime day deals for a couple of items I have overstocked in FBA.
I would probably sell 2 units a day and on prime day I sold 10...a bit of an uplift but nothing significant.
I get that customers love prime day though and there is often an uplift to sales those days even if they don't contribute.
I think for most sellers it is hard to add deals on prime day. Often we are selling at low margins and can't afford to lower our prices by 20%.
It really is great though for customers and I personally take advantage of some prime day deals.
From the day of announcement of Prime Day , we seen a significant sales drop. The drop continued few days after the event. This year we haven't participated and only seen a slight spike on day 1 ( few hundreds pounds extra compare to normal daily sales).
We have submitted few new/aged stock lines , but due to Amazon not having enough sales data , all this sku's haven't been eligible for Prime Day. And not every sellers can offer 20% discount on their best sellers, due to all Amazon fees and commissions.
I think Amazon need to find some sort of solutions for small/medium business , otherwise i think more sellers will continue dropping out in the next few years from this event.
Didn't participate. Found it impossible to drop prices when we are already having to sell at very very low margins otherwise the listings get taken down for 'not being competitive compared to other sites' (yet Amazon fees are the biggest for me).
Maybe to help small businesses get involved, drop the selling fees during Prime Day. I know this will impact your profit (Amazon) but at least there will be more deals and more people purchasing from Amazon which surely will make you more profit in the long run?
