Used Books: Listing Error 99010, Country of Origin
We have started receiving an upload error from Amazon, 99010 - “A value is missing from one or more required columns from this group: [country_of_origin = null].”
We are using HomeBase 3.2 as our database, and have not had any issues with this error before, and have not altered our procedures.
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance

Country of Origin is now required. Other threads about it, including announcements from Amazon. You must have missed them

As mentioned the new requirement must have passed you by.

I’ve just had this happen on Linnworks. Can’t seem to find Country of Origin in extended properties. I have a ticket open with Linnworks Support at the moment. Will report back if I find a solution.

Does anyone know the real purpose of this seemingly nonsensical new requirement?
As Cibba says, you have to enter the COO even when doing minor edits.
For used books, this makes almost no sense unless by ‘COO’ Amazon actually means the location from where it will be dispatched.
If every seller has to enter the COO for every new listing and edit, isn’t this likely to lead to even more confusion of the catalogue?
Some sellers are bound to input different COOs so unless the COO is actually meant to indicate the location from whence it will be dispatched it’s going to cause virtual headaches for Amazon’s bots (poor little bots ) and will probably end up like a version of 'unknown binding ('unknown COO?).
It seems fairly obvious that this is another one of those Amazon improvements that hasn’t been thought through. Applying it to the used books market is all but meaningless.

So is there a pressing need to pro-actively add COO to all current offers? I’m adding it when I make a change, such as adding a new copy. I also must add it when I list new book. It would be awkward to go and do this for all listings, but I would do it if I thought my sales might be negatively affected. Anyone got an insight on this?
Also, I’ve been searching for the place of printing and not publication. It seems that most people here are using place of publication. That’s actually easier. Most of my books are published in the UK, but may be printed in Europe, China etc. To be clear, as far as we know, no one is going to check this and send out warning notices are they?

Back on topic - has anyone managed to get a Homebase export file to upload successfuly to Amazon?
I feel I’ve tried every permutation of country_of_origin now and Amazon still says they’re all invalid.
Any help/advice would be much appreciated!

Still no luck here either. I’d be very appreciative if someone could upload/share the template for books they’re using if anyone has managed to bulk upload successfully.
