Brand name approval

I’m trying to create our first listing for our socks, but I’m getting the following error:

5665: [Request approval for] [BRAND NAME]
The brand name you have entered has not been approved by Amazon. [Request approval here by submitting an application]

Our brand name is two words, but our socks only have the first word stitched on the cuff + the logo. We can’t change the brand name to just the first word as it’s already a registered brand. Furthermore, our packaging is just a clear plastic wrap for each pair of socks.

It states in the application “The branding on your product or packaging must match ‘[BRAND NAME]’ perfectly (differences in capitalisation allowed)”, and because of this we’ve been rejected after filling it out.

We’re doing FBM and our brand name isn’t a registered trademark. My question is, if we bought stickers that has our brand name on it and stuck them on the packaging of each pair, would this be allowed? Alternatively, would signing up for brand registry and trademarking the brand name work?

I’m new to selling on amazon, sorry if i’m just being stupid.

Stickers won’t work as it needs to be permanently affixed

The brand name on the listing must match the branding on the product

I’m not sure exactly how trademarks and brand registry works, it wouldn’t surplus me if brand registered names still needed approval

If your brand isn’t registered, it doesn’t really exist.
You need to get it registered and protected.
At a guess, they are saying that it’s not been approved, because it’s not registered with Brand Registry.

As such, your listing should really be a “Generic” brand as it’s not recognised anywhere as a brand.
It also means that pretty much anyone can jump onto the listing and sell themselves, or even get it changed.
In other words, trying to do things this way, is leaving yourself wide open to problems.

As to the stickers, then that’s not going to work. A brand name needs to be permanently affixed to the product/box etc.
