Amazon overcharging for USPS Priority mail?
I was just noticing it seems like Amazon is about $1 higher on USPS Priority (standard, not flat rate) mail than they should be.
Amazon is charging $8.92 for a 7 ounce package. Paypal ShipStation is $7.96.
The odd thing is that the media mail rates and 1st class rates are the same for both services, it’s just Priority mail.
If this is intentional, it’s not great, but their sandbox obviously. However, because the other rates are correct, I’m wondering if this is some kind of rate table error?

Medium flat rate box is $15 here, $14 elsewhere. The extra $1 is for convenience and coverage for INR claims (more common in Dec evidently).

Discount pricing used to be the same across the board (ShipStation / Bay / Amazon), not including the dynamic extra discount offered by Amazon. Not the case anymore.
However, you need to evaluate the value of the “built-in” insurance from a non-delivery claim that certainly does not exist when using a method other than Buy Shipping.

Amazon is simply passing on the holiday surcharge. Many providers are not passing it on for certain cases. You could ship and get the same prices if you used Amazon’s Veeqo.
Yes, it is owned by Amazon and uses the Amazon Buy Shipping but gives you better rates on USPS Priority. Maybe an enticement to use their new acquisition?
