Handmade - white background required?

Hello everyone!

I am new here and I am struggling while trying to figure out how is it with the white background.

I know how to make a product photo with white background I am just not big fan of it as I already know my handmade items sell better on daylight and with natural background.

Is it obligated for handmade programme as well? I already started to edit my photos and than I tried to search for example "crochet doily" and I can see many sellers don´t use white background at all so I am so so confused.

I hope it is not repeated question :-D
