Return/refund question
If customer states wrong item sent and you authorise return and provide prepaid return label (you do not mention cost given you are accepting liability)…but then once you receive item back you realise the correct item was sent can you reduce the amount of refund by the return postage cost?

Of course, you are correct. Once you receive the merchandise back, you will be able to inspect it to determine whether the return reason was correct and how to handle it.
You can deduct the return label expenses out of the refund along with the cost of loss of value in case that the item gets returned in a materially different condition than originally sent.
Also, keep in mind that you won’t be required to refund the original shipping cost if the return was requested after more than 14 days past delivery, assuming that you found it not to be seller-faulted.
