Deactivated due to lack of UK VAT
Hi, I am a Hong Kong seller.
My UK account has been deactivated!
Here's the thing. It only takes me about 6 working days to deliver the product from Hong Kong to the buyer in Germany. However, the delivery template only allows 5-10 working days to be filled in. Therefore, I had an idea. I changed the default shipping address to the UK so that the delivery template allowed me to select 5-7 working days, while I was still shipping from Hong Kong.
I asked Amazon customer service before I made this change, and they said that I don't need to provide a UK VAT if I don't actually store the item in the U.K. But now, Amazon has deactivated my U.K. account for storing the item in the U.K. The tracking codes for every one of my parcels show that they were not sent from the UK, and I have written emails but received no reply from Amazon.
Can anyone help me with this? thank you.

You tried a work-around which unfortunately has come to bite you back. That was a huge mistake and you can't blame Seller Support for that.
Seller Support were correct when they told you that you don't need a VAT number if you don't store your goods in the UK. But the moment you changed the ship-from address to the UK, you told the Amazon beast that you store goods in the UK so a VAT number was needed.
All I can suggest is that you write an action plan stating the reason for your error, that your goods are not stored in the UK and how you plan to fix it. It might take a few attempts but eventually, someone may listen.
