dangerous goods, UPS, UK, info needed please :)

So, i'd already signed up with the dangerous goods program on Amazon, so no issues on that side (that i'm aware of at least), packed up a box of 20 fragrance bottles, and had to arrange my own transport to get it into Amazon, so i went with UPS.

UPS collected the package, then yesterday informed me i didnt have authorisation to send dangerous goods with them! 😱

They'd also said i'd put the wrong labels on, i'd used 'class 3' instead of the 'low quantity' ones.

So for those who have arranged their own transport for dangerous goods into Amazon with UPS, do i need a special account with them to do? what other alternatives do i have?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Seller_0u9kPrRfQfMVA,

Thank you of reaching out to us.

Regarding shipping dangerous goods (such as fragrances) to Amazon fulfilment centres, here are a few key points from our help pages:

  • Labelling: For deliveries of limited quantities of dangerous goods to Amazon fulfilment centres, the only accepted labels are limited quantity labels. Transport labels (such as Class 3) should not be used.
  • All dangerous goods sent to Amazon must comply with all applicable regulations to ensure that they are transported, stored, handled and labelled safely and correctly. As a seller, you must stay informed about current relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Applicable UK regulations include: ADR (International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road), IATA DGR, and CLP regulations.

For more details, please refer to these help pages:

Regarding the specific requirements from your carrier (UPS), such as account authorisation for dangerous goods shipping, we'd recommend contacting them directly.

Best,

Kai

Hi @Kai_Amazon

so, just coming back to this one, if i'm sending bottles of fragrances into one of the fulfilment centres, the boxes should be labelled as 'limited quantity' not class 3?

sorry, i was looking through the guides, and it can be a little bit like looking for a needle in a field full of haystacks sometimes!
