Item arrives in packaging that reveals what's inside

Afternoon everyone,

After a quick search on here and Amazon help pages we did not find much information in regards to the issue in the subject - SIOC (Ship In Own Container).

Item in question is a variation of 3 in total.
Box size 10cm x 10xm x 20cm - not huge at all.
Weight just over 2kg.

Variation 2 is 300g lighter and 20% smaller.
Variation 3 is 600g lighter and 40% smaller.
Both are shipped in additional packaging.

All are far from being fragile items, but considerably heavy for the size.

Packaging is strong enough if shipped inside additional packaging, but Amazon has decided to classified as SIOC - slap a label on and ship it.

Some effort went into the packaging and unboxing experience for not so cheap item, which has been completely ruined by arriving beaten up, torn, shipping sticker on and in some cases split open.

We haven’t got enough data from the customers and it’s not a huge issue yet, but we were wondering if there is anything we can do to have it shipped in Amazon packaging?

Thank you very much and have a good day.
Marc

Probably the simplest solution is for you to pack them all inside another outer box.

I found an old post that mentioned the SIOC process from the US forum. Whether it is still accurate i have no idea, but i haven’t seen a simple solution offered anywhere other than of the type i mentioned above.

Summary

Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,
From your email, I understand that are concerned about the ASIN: B01N911HME that is being sent in the own container.
Upon checking, I see that the shipping setting for ASIN B01N911HME is set to ship in own container. As per the process, the ASIN snickering will be done as per Ships in own container.
Please know in an effort to improve fulfillment processes and improve the overall Customer Experience, Amazon regularly reviews inventory to provide a better customer experience. An ASIN is deemed SIOC (Ships in own container) when it passes both a visual and physical evaluation. All single shipments will then not require an Amazon overbox.
The ASINs are monitored by the Customer Packaging Experience Team and if damage rates or negative packaging feedback increase because of the SIOC recommendation, Customer Packaging Experience Team will remove the certification.
Have a nice day.

Evening,
That is what I was afraid off, extra cost and time.
This is the post I was referring to. Seems like no way round it.
Thank you for your replies and have a good weekend.
