How do I know if i can sell a certain product for sure

Hello all

There is a certain beauty product that I would like to sell (only a handful). It is not gated and can be listed without additional documents like invoices. However when i check on Seller Amp there are only 2 listings. One that says *FBA and another seller. In the alerts it says PL and in eligibility it say Yes., you can sell. Am I ok to sell this item or are there any red flags i am missing ? Still trying to get my head around everything but its all abit complicated .)

Thank you

Does your product have an EAN and if so, did you enter that EAN in the add a product section ?
Did that product come up and if so, is the brand and description, images etc the same ?

So you don’t have the EAN ?
The proper way to list is to get the EAN and go to catalogue - add a product and enter the EAN there
If all details match you can either sell, or apply to sell yours

As a new seller you may still be asked for your invoices at any point

Thank you, I will buy the item and try what you have suggested. If it doesnt work I can always return . I like this forum its very helpful

You’ll need to make sure they are from a trade only supplier with a full invoice - no pro forma etc

As @The_Little_Shop states you need to ensure the EAN is exactly the same, there are thousands of products that look the same, but this does not necessarily mean that they are the same. You also need to make sure that the brand name shown is also the same as yours, many sellers purchase generic products, then register them as their own products - totally wrong but if they are on Brand Registry then they can cause you all sorts of problems.

Are you buying from a shop/retail store ?, or as Little_Shop says, a trade-only supplier ?

There aren’t many trade only nowadays that offer sale or return

I have one last question for the day. If you are not VAT registered due to 85k threshold and only selling in the UK how do you make sure your items are not bought by Irish customers as I believe this would fall in to cross border transactions? Is this something Amazon automatically detect?

Are you planning on selling fba or fbm ?

it would be FBA, that way i wont send the wrong item to the wrong person !

I wouldn’t be too sure on that lol - amazon sometimes do it themselves

You’d need to go to settings - fulfilment by amazon - Shipping programmes and export settings and make sure uk is set to disabled

Make sure EFN is disabled too if you only want uk sales

You’ll need a good read up on seller university first of the process of sending to amazon and don’t send anything you don’t have full trade only invoices for
