    Postage Rates

    Is it just me or is the Tracked 48 postage rate purchased through C&D on a Business contract wether it is on Amazon buy postage or otherwise dearer than buying direct online (£3.65) once all the surcharges are added on (environmental and Fuel surcharges)

    If your RM account is linked, you will be charged whatever your contracted prices are. It is not unusual for retail prices to be cheaper. This is the case with me at the moment and I’m in the middle of renegotiations due to my contract prices going up a lot. So I’m using the retail c&D until I sort it out.

    They do put the prices for account Tracked postage so it is higher than the public rates when you buy on account.

    They did this to me last year. If you contact your account manager or the Royal Mail Customer Helpline and ask to have a call back from the sales team you can normally negotiate better rates.

    It is wrong to be honest we should never have to pay more than the public price.

    I have a small C&D contract linked to an OBA. 99% of my orders are FBA as it is incredibly much cheaper when you consider labour costs. As I like things ot be automated, I dont use Amazon Buy Shipping and if I do get an FBM order then I automatically send it tracked Royal Mail.

    So my Royal Mail contract is the basic one and probably the most expensive. I have been reducing my Royal Mail use for a few years since the massive cost increases

    For a tracked parcel RM48 I am £2.68, plus surcharges of 47p. That makes £3.15. Then the Chancellor must wet his beak at 63p making a grand total of £3.78.

    I honestly dont think I have a special rate. If you are more you should definitely contact your Royal Mail Account Manager about your OBA. To get this I had to agree to a minimum of 5 tracked pieces of mail per day. I get free collections and it all works fairly smoothly. Delivery, well thats the same as everyone else - patchy. Certainly a lot better than any couriers I have tried.
