FBA in stock rate - how to increase IPI Score

Hi,

Our In stock rate has dropped to 10% today. Alarmingly the SKUs I have been told to replenish, which seem to be affecting our score are newly listed SKUs and the stock hasn’t been shipped to Amazon yet. On a daily basis I check the restock today recommendations and hide any recommendations for restocking.

According to Seller Support this is the only way I can increase my IPI Score, apart from actually sending stock in. Due to balancing restock limits I am selective over what I send in and I have bought many spot deals I won’t be replenishing. I haven’t deleted these listings as I need the listing for any returns.

I would be grateful for any recommendations you might have as I cannot believe the only way to increase my score is to hide Amazons recommended SKUs to restock.

Many Thanks,

The in-stock rate does not factor into IPI at all - your score does not decrease if you have a lot of items out of stock. Amazon’s own policy pages confirm this and it has also been stated by Amazon’s own FBA policy chap on the only webinar i’ve ever attended. Hiding restock recommendations or deleting listings will not improve your score.

The biggest factor for IPI is sell-through. As such, if your fast selling items are out of stock and your slower moving stock is in stock, then your IPI will take a hit. Making that the reverse should increase your IPI.

It’s also worth being aware that since we’ve just passed through the IPI measurement period and new storage limits, your IPI won’t really matter for essentially another 3 months.

Thanks for both of your responses. It seems the sell through rate is the area where I need to generally improve. I have moved some slow selling stock out of Amazon today, which should hopefully help.

The IPI is directly linked to how much inventory we can send in so I believe it does matter for the duration of these next 3 months? Unless I am mistaken? We have only been selling since February and I am eager to increase how much inventory we can send in for this quarter as our current allowance is extremely difficult to work with.

Thanks for your answers, it’s much appreciated.

Ok, that’s great many thanks for confirming all of you. Therefore, my restock limits is probably down to the volume of sales I am doing? It has gone up for the last 2 weeks but it’s still not where I need it to be. I believe this is the case for most sellers.
