EC Declaration of Conformity for Toys - And Clothing?

Hi

I have over 100 items which need this declaration which have come through over the last few days, and they just keep coming constantly.

However, around 6 are comforters so classed as toys, the rest, well over 100 is clothing, I have submitted appeal requests for some stating they are clothing and not toys. I haven’t gone through them all as yet.

A few have come back saying the asin is a subject of another issue, and to contact "tam-general@amazon.co.uk" email address in a separate case, does anyone know what that stands for? I don’t know how to contact a specific dept to open a case, only know how to open a case. How would I do this?

One has come back saying they’ve checked it and are classing it as a toy and I need to submit the documents, it is a sleepsuit with a gingerbread man on it. It is clearly clothing not a toy.

Any advice please, makes me so anxious all this.

I know a number of sellers sell clothing on other websites do they get the same as they do on here? How do they cope with items arriving from the far east without any conformity declaration?

But they are asking for toy documents, they are not toys, I understand them asking for the documents for the comforters which I can get from my supplier although haven’t as yet as have only had them start coming through.

Hi,
Check out the link in blue below for more info.

EN 14878 – Burning Behavior of Children’s Nightwear

EN 14878 specifies requirements for the burning behavior of the following items when tested against EN 1103 standards:

  • Children’s nightwear
  • Nightwear fabrics intended for children’s nightwear

Hi

Thanks, they are seeing all the clothing as toys and want the Document of Compliance for Toys.

Children’s Toys
* EC Declaration of Conformity
* Genuine product images or its packaging

There are vests, sleepsuits and pyjamas. There are blankets also. It is all asking for Childrens Toys EC declaration of conformity as above,

The sleepsuit I was referring to that they haven’t approved - they are still saying it is a toy, and asking for the toy document, but it is clothing, not a toy.

Sleepsuits are from newborn through to 18-24 months, vast variety of different items which are all personalised by me. What’s baffling me is they are sending me the notice for each item, each size, asking for the toy document. Some are being approved, some require me to email and open a new case and the one is saying no its a toy. I still have over 100 to go through and appeal on the basis it is not a toy.

Just looked through some more and most of them are suppressed with really rubbish photographs so I think I’ll delete some of them anyway as now I have a different set up for the images etc.

I think it does pop up all the time, I’ve had it before when they first started but with items I no longer sold, all my toys that were listed years ago even though they were out of stock and discontinued, I still had the notice.

it just makes me very anxious when this happens, well when anything happens on Amazon!
