Listing a new product and I get an error message about my UPC

Hi,

I am listing a gaming PC which I branded and made, so i bought a UPC code on barcode mania as explained on youtube but I keep getting this error message when I try to submit the product.

If i tick it does not have a brand it automatically chooses "generic" and i still get the error message.

Or if i write my brand name into it it says its not a brand that exists on the system.

the amazon helper looked on GS1 and says my code is already registered to "Land and Sea" maybe i should check with barcodes mania to see if they havent sent me a UPC already in use.

As the other poster advised you can only use barcodes brought from GS1.

Many years ago you could buy barcodes from Barcode Mania and other such sites but now they are not advised for use on Amazon. Even if you could get Amazon to accept the barcode it is highly likely at some point that the listing will be taken down in the future due as Amazon do check barcodes are valid and match the brand on the listing.

Hello @Seller_QImp76SqdrJ8n,

This is Sakura from Amazon.

Sellers are correct. As per Product UPCs and Global Trade Item Numbers help page:

"We verify the authenticity of product identifiers by checking the GS1 database. European Article Numbers (EAN) or UPCs that do not match the information provided by GS1 will be considered invalid. Obtain your product identifier directly from GS1 (and not from other third parties selling European Article Number (EAN) and UPC licences) to ensure that the appropriate information is reflected in the GS1 database."

@Seller_k2X0L9mVRT0pW, @Seller_QuM1AZgzfU9x4, @Seller_d8YGbIjNqwFxn thank you for your answers and explanation. ✨

Regards,

Sakura
