Wedding Category

Hi new member and seller, can’t seem to find a Wedding Category for Handmade although when I search on Amazon there is one but it isn’t showing to me when I list my items and we sell predominantly handmade wedding accessories. Am I missing something?

no, thee’s no wedding category. Wedding is a tag.

When you list your product select wedding for occasion and it will be picked up by Amazon.

Hi there A_Touch_of_Sparkle

Lydia here from Handmade Seller Support UK.

The handmade Wedding Store has just recently launched on UK and can be found on the UK catalogue, search All > Handmade > ‘shop by department’ > handmade wedding.

The Handmade Editors are frequently browsing the store to find products to feature in merchandised events. They look for a combination of factors like high quality product images and, relevant and useful product information.

That being said, what is most important is that a seller must have added ‘wedding’ in the ‘occasion’ field for the ‘additional information’ section for their listing.
If this is not included, the listing may not be selected to feature in the wedding store listings.

see inventory > manage inventory > edit (for the relevant ASIN) > additional information > occasion

HI Lydia
I do find the categories are a bit restricted, sometime I can’t find a suitable category at all for what I make, are there any plans to add some new categories? Etsy has lots to choose from and also you can add tags and up to something like 13 but I can only find 5 tags on Amazon are there any plans to add more? Should we be putting more in the description so we are found? Since listing I have had 12 page views (probably all me) since listing so find it a bit frustrating that not getting any traffic at all.

Hi Janine,

Lydia here again.
The sub categories are being expanded. They will follow in line which is already launched on .com for example. I understand that Beauty is next to roll out and that should happen shortly (no definite date at this point)

There are certainly more than 5 ‘tags’ for the sub categories browse nodes.
Take a look at this link Here you can download the European Browse Note Mapping Table in which there is the full break down of all brose nodes available - you will need to go to section ‘5874’ onwards for the handmade browse nodes.

Re search terms and key words - try and think like a buyer and what terms/words they might use if searching for a product. Some times you have to think laterally too e.g. ‘wedding’ might also be ‘union’ and ‘marriage’ and ‘tie-the-knot’, ‘vows’ etc. The more you use, the greater ‘net’ you cast for capturing buyers.
