Seller repayment £30

Hi,

I literally opened my Amazon business account yesterday. I’m still waiting for all the bank and ID checks to go through but they’ve charged my credit card £30 for seller repayment. Can anyone tell me what this is please?

Also, I’m a little unsure about the £25 + VAT for selling. Does everyone pay that or only if you want certain features?

Thank you.

Regarding the fee, this indicates that you signed up for the Professional Selling Plan and your payment method on file will keep getting charged unless you downgrade it into Individual, regardless of it’s status or whether you are actively selling.

Here you can review the Selling Plan Comparision to see what are the differences between them:

If you would like to stop getting charged and downgrade your current plan anyway, please follow this link and click on “Downgrade”:

It depends on how much you want to invest when trying to sell on AMZ. The Professional selling plan is mostly recommended if you plan to sell, at the very least, 34 products a month (and that is for UK only; for EU markets, you need to sell more than 40 products on a monthly basis) and it adds more features than you won’t find on the Individual selling plan, such as: the Buy Box, their advertising options and the chance of adding your listings via file upload [a good option for sellers with their own website already set up and working who want to list their products here faster].

As you’re a new seller who just signed up yesterday, here is a link that will help you understand how it works selling on this platform: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/learn/ref=xx_su_dnav_xx

For me I had no choice.

If you don’t pay that £30 a month (£25+VAT) they don’t let you choose your own postage charges. They were adding £4 onto a £3 item which costs me 72p to post making it so expensive no-one would have bought it.

Thank you for the responses, they were really helpful.

Just to clarify; if I sell as an individual there is no monthly fee but you are charged per sale. If you use professional it’s £30 per month?

For the professional is it just £30 (and that is what they are referring to when they say £25+VAT) or £30 on top of the £25(+VAT).

Thank you.
