FBA Re-measurement gets copy/paste replies, cost me over $4k in the last year
I have two variations of a product I sell.
One of the variations somehow has the wrong dimensions.
Variation A (correct dimensions) is about 8oz, and about 3 x 1 x 49.
Variation B (wrong dimensions) shows about 1.5lbs and 4 x 4 x 60.
The wrong dimensions change the FBA size tier from Large to Extra Large, and raise the fulfillment fees from $10.37 to $28.61.
I requested a re-measurement and have received a series of inaccurate copy/paste replies, and Amazon refuses to correct this.
The replies have included things like:
- The re-measurement is complete, and the new measurements are correct. (This simply isn't the case. I replied with photo measurements showing how far off they are, but support ignored these. I also imagine if it was actually cubiscanned, the measurements wouldn't be exact even inches.)
- You've requested re-measurement twice in the past 60 days, so we can't do it again until more time passes. (This isn't correct. This is the first time I've ever requested re-measurement of this item.)
- Then most recently: Actually we can't do a re-measure because there isn't inventory in the fulfillment centers. (This isn't accurate. This product has been fully in stock for over a year)
In the past 12 months I've sold 245 units, so I've been overcharged around $4,500.00. (The old fees made the inaccurate measurements even more costly).
Do I just keep replying to the case in the hopes that someday a human actually reads my notes and gets it done? Or am I doomed to overpaying thousands of dollars of fulfillment fees until the end of time?
If a mod like @KJ_Amazon or @Jameson_Amazon could check this out, the case ID is 15435221481

Are you items in a box or a poly bag? With poly bags, it's possible that part of the bag flies out from the unit and the cubiscan says, hey, I see something here, so this item is this big. (This is why we tape down any extra poly bag flaps).
To the 'no inventory to cubiscan' response from support, share a screen shot showing a number of available units. If that fails (we're sometimes told that units are in an FC that can't do cubiscans), look at where ALL of your units are and give them a list and ask that they choose a unit from one of the FCs on the list that can do a cubiscan.
Let us know how it goes.

And the measurements you did put in your listing are correct?

Same issue. I just recalled all the inventory and sent back in, then they re-measured upon receiving and it was accurate. For re-measuring reason choose 'new packaging'.
Costs me hundreds and countless hours to fix.

That is why Amazon replies with copy and paste because they are making an additional 4k of you a year.

I am facing the same problem. And amazon is giving same copy paste answers for measurement values.

Same here. I sold over 200 units that were measured at the wrong weight and dimensions costing me 1$ extra per unit.
And they refused to refund even though admitting they were wrongly measured lol

The same happened to me, I have asked for remeasurements twice, yet the same response :-(

Please come back here and let us know if you were able to recover 'old' remeasurements. We opened a case in which we were mischarged over $30,000 over a year+ but told we only had recourse for reimbursement for I believe 60 or 90 days....
The 'remeasurements' happend in the middle of the night most of the time. One minute the correct amount was charged, next the wrong amount. It seems the system reverted to old 20 year old measurement due to a glitch and we had no idea until it was too late.

Cost me over $25K - $4 a unit. So painful. Plastic bags had loose flaps hanging over the 18" threshold. Even though they can ship in an 18" box easily as the item inside the bag was 17.5" long... We made the change to a boxed version that can ship in that box. 17.75" long....worked great.
