Not one of the known UK moderators, as it is .com, but could possibly be a US one ? Could this be a phishing scam email ? - Where are you based ?- UK

Thank you for your quick response.

My account has been deactivated. It's been over a year as Amazon send me round and round in circles. I have a colleague with a similar problem. Out of the blue he was contacted by skzaheen@amazon.com offering help.

My colleague is back selling books BUT has yet to receive a pay dispersal.

Totally frustrated with Amazon's failure to help, I Emailed the same sk. He came back quickly BUT

1) A large yellow banner appeared stating

CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you can confirm the sender and know the content is safe.

2) sk's Email to me reads as follows

"Hello, I hope you are doing. Kindly share me your registered email id so that I can investigate your account.Looking forward to your replay and to our conversation"

Surely, if sk is an Amazon rep he has access to my Email AND even for Amazon, that reply reads oddly.

So now, I'm still stuck with my Amazon problem and big doubts about this guy.

I'm in the Republic of Ireland. I list books on Amazon.co.uk. [Amazon want my UK VAT number, thinking wrongly that I store inventory in the UK] PS I have NO problems with ABE. Sorry for going on so long.

Then that email from skzaheen is definitely a phishing scam - hope you didn't click on any links, but I see you did reply to the email - not a good idea !! - but at least you did get a warning. If you are based in UK with a UK seller account then never respond to anything from .com.

As you are in Eire, are you totally FBM ? - and just pay higher postage costs ? I too am a book seller, but only sell in UK, but as you are technically in EU then maybe they are assuming you use FBA and should be VAT registered here.

I didn't go any futher than make the enquiry you've answered. Thanks a lot for the help and advice.

I am in Eire, as you say. I am also totally FBM.

Nothing I say to Amazon gets beyond the most trivial and uninformed cut and paste responses (always accompanied with an infuriating "We're here to help")

The 'Known UK moderators' you referred to above, sound more sophisticated than the bott like, cut and paste, reactions I've been getting. What must I do to catch the attention of one ?

Yes, as we all know, any help from Seller Support is always cut and paste replies.

To tag in some of the forum moderators you need to type @ then start typing their name and select from the dropdown that appears, but only names with the Amazon logo beside them, and they will appear highlighted in blue. Will do a couple for you @Julia_Amazon @Roberto_Amazon. There are several other names - Spencer, Angie, Ezra, Spencer, and there do appear to be several new ones, but as yet doesn't seem possible to actually tag them correctly.
