Resizing/Truncating GS1 UPC barcodes

Good afternoon!

I recently set up 30 barcodes with the GS1 database. My product label on my boxes are 2.4"Wx1.57H". My understanding was my barcode had to be a minimum 1.175" w x . 56" h on the box. The problem with my GS1 barcodes when I download them is not the width but the height and GS1 says do NOT crop/truncate the height of the barcodes (the size has to be changed proportionally). I noticed similar products to mine that have "cropped" or shortened bars on their barcode. I believe Amazon can still can the barcode even if I shorten the bar height but can anyone give any insight to this?

Attached is the original barcode and the second photo is how I want to shorten the height of the bars.

If you have any insight or tips on how small we can go with the barcode please advise..

Thanks in advance

Hi there @Seller_nVwxi7Iy49BZU,

The primary concerns when it comes to Barcode Size is ensuring it is still scannable. It may still till tie to the same code, but if the product is very small the barcode may be difficult to scan. You will want to physically ensure that your product is scannable via the barcode or ensure that the Product also has Amazon Barcode Labeling. Thank you for your understanding.
