French Le Poste and proof of Delivery in case of INR claim on delivered item
Hi everyone,
I am having issue with a difficult customer in France; He’d purchased product worth 100+ euros on the 9th of December. Sent from Scotland, missed him at home on the 14th of December, but he had collected it from the post office on the 15th of December.
ID was verified on the collection - says the Le Poste website.
Yet customer claims he had never received it/collected it. He’d opened A-Z claim and amazon is giving me 72 hours(it’s Saturday evening!) to provide them with “Proof of delivery document showing the recipient’s signature (such as a copy of a signature confirmation or return receipt from the courier).”
.
Does anyone have anything on mind, how to obtain such a document? Is that even possible to obtain such a document?
Thank you
L.

Presumably you need to send them this link to the tracking

The level of scam from French customers is too high.
You should question whether signatures are collected in France. ID verification maybe sufficient in France as they have ID cards.

perhaps just remind amazon that the customer would have taken the “while you were out” card to the LaPoste counter with his proof of id and a link to the tracking page

I thought if the signature matches the name on the order the claim will be denied? If the order was collected then ID would be requested before the order is released.

I’m assuming you sent it via International Signed or Tracked. In order to get ta copy of he customer’s signature, you’ll have to ask Royal Mail. This can take up to 3 months, though usually quicker. Not much use when you need to act quicker.

If you have friend on France, ask them to help you to go to La poste for TRACEO, that means the post office may give you the inside track info. of the buyer if he received the parcel or not, and ask the buyer to give you ID copy and the photo of his letter box, and also ask he fill the forum - CERFA, you may download from internet.
Usually if the guy didn’t receive the parcel, he should ask the post office, not seller, but as we all know, there are always liars, I also met several times the french liars from Corse, they always said:
Hello, I didn’t receive the goods, would you refund me, thanks.
I never believe them.
Try to ask him to fill CERFA, and send you ID copy, or ask him to send you proof letter issued by the post office, usually he can’t give you. If he ask the post office which will help him to look for the parcel.

[Safe way is to claim money back from Royalmail saying customer denies delivery. Royalmail will only cover for the cost price and postage. But if you are able to get POD from laposte with customer signature and name then you may get claim in your favour.]

Geesh, French housewives… it’s just talking to SS! But the consensus is that in order to pick up parcel they must show ID card for package to be released.
