Multiple returns for same order?

Anyone had this?

Someone ordered something about 3 weeks ago now, claimed it was damaged, asked for a return. I may have just sent a new one without the return if they'd asked. I messaged them but got no reply. Messaged again and still no reply.

I didn't receive the return. A couple of days ago I received a new return request for the same item. The item still hasn't been returned.

I rarely get returns, I don't know how their can be more than one return request for the same order.

We have had this, not sure how it happens. Sometimes the return reason changes, usually from a change of mind reason to a seller fault reason. Presumably to get a free return.

I have had this also, from memory, you can mark the duplicate as closed, and the reason for doing so is "duplicate request" or something similar.

Thanks for the replies. Curiously, a refund has just been issued by Amazon. Neither tracking shows anything as having been sent.

Yeah the refund is authorised when they request the refund, the cash will be deducted from your account as soon as it's scanned at the couriers / post office when they drop it off.

Yes, at the time I posted it hadn't tracked but has now appeared in tracking. It's supposed to be damaged. If the buyer had contacted me I could have probably sorted it for a lot less than Amazon's system allows and we'd have all been happy. As it is it looks like they're either not receiving messages or ignoring them.
