Nationwide barcodes
Hi!
I have purchased some barcodes from nationwide but have been subsequently told Amazon only accepts GS1 codes; also can you sell your own product on Amazon with an individual account or do you have to have a professional seller’s account and register a brand?

Individual/professional are two different types of account.
Fees are all that are different, along with reports and shipping settings.
Which is worth using, depends on the quantity of items you are sending.
However, do not confuse the above with being a business or not.
If you are buying to sell, then you are a business and must register as such.
GS1 barcodes are the ONLY acceptable barcodes to use.
You don’t have to register a brand as you can sell your items as unbranded, but this will mean that you will get other sellers on your listing.
The only way to stop this, is to register a brand.
I would strongly suggest that you start reading all of the various information available on Amazon about selling and particularly FEES!
It’s a steep learning curve and if you don’t want it to cost you money, you must understand what you are doing, before you do it!
