Amazon VAT payments

I was under the impression that Amazon auto collects and remits VAT on my behalf.

I’m trying to file my VAT right now, and it says that I owe a few euros. I’m confused … perhaps I owe VAT on items that were shipped to countries outside of the EU(e.g. Switzerland)? If not, what could cause me to owe this amount?
