Read onlyHello selling partners,
In order for Amazon to keep innovating and to continue our support of all sellers in the Amazon stores with compliance and safety regulations, we are announcing that on 10/1/24 we will launch the first category in the UK for Product Safety & Compliance. (Please note that this will only be launching in the UK with plans to expand to the rest of the EU)
We have taken direct feedback from our selling partners in conjunction with carefully monitoring market trends and compliance laws and see the new category as an additional support channel to help assist with all product safety requirements, and compliance documentation.
This launch comes right in time for the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) laws that will take place on 12/13/2024. This regulation will replace the General Product Safety Directive and the EU directive on dangerous products resembling foodstuffs. It will introduce requirements for most non-food consumer products offered for sale in the EU. The GPSR builds upon the Market Surveillance Regulation and provisions from other existing EU directives and regulations.
The GPSR will not apply in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales). It will, however, apply in Northern Ireland, under the Northern Ireland Protocol. For more information on the Northern Ireland Protocol, go to this European Commission web page.
This page outlines some of the requirements of the GPSR. This material is for informational purposes only. It is not intended as legal advice. If you have any questions about the laws and regulations concerning your products, we encourage you to consult your legal counsel.
We are excited to announce this launch, please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns below.
For direct questions or issues, Please feel free to start discussions or open cases in the UK and EU in regards to GPSR.
Feel free to reach out with any questions.
Cheers,
Micah
Hello,
How can I track a postcard for my business verification please?
Hi Micah, we are in process of meeting the GPSR requirements.
One of the requirements is to "label those products with the contact information of the manufacturer and Responsible Person, and, if applicable, of the importer, including the postal and ELECTRONIC ADDRESS" (emphasis added).
Is it really required and acceptable to include the electronic address (i.e. email address) of the manufacturer and responsible person on the insert? We've always been very mindful of the product insert compliance directive never to ask a buyer to contact us outside of buyer seller messaging and have not included our email address in the past.
