Please can someone explain this refund calculation?
Hi All,
I received an email in the morning that a refund has been initiated.
I received an email again that a refund has been initiated for the same order a few minutes ago, upon checking the order history, here are the screenshots of the sale and the refund.
I will be extremely thankful if someone can explain me this calculation.
Thanks in advance

I’m not going to do all the maths for you here, but this in my experience is what should be refunded to you:
- Price + P&P paid by buyer = A
- Total refund given to customer = same as A
- Refund to you from Amazon = A - (minus) 25% of the Amz fees - (minus) VAT (20% tax) on the above retained 25% fees.
So you loose 25% of the fees + 20% of these 25% which is tax.
(Unless it has changed in the past year or 2, as I can’t recall doing a refund for a very long time).
Does this help?

Why was the refund done? Was the item returned to you, an A-Z Guarantee Claim or chargeback?
Who initiated the first refund was it you or Amazon? Is the order FBM or FBA?
If the item was returned to you did it cost the buyer money to send the item back. Is the £6.74 the cost of the return shipping?

Thanks for your reply
Why was the refund done?
I cannot find any reason, I have checked the Voice of the customer, nothing in it, the item was sold on Nov 4, and the first refund was initiated yesterday morning, the second refund was initiated yesterday evening.
Was the item returned to you?
The item will go in the FC, (I assume)
I have checked no A-Z Guarantee claim, no chargeback.
The refund was initiated by Amazon
I am doing only FBA
