Scam email or genuine?

I’ve received an email this morning purporting to come from ‘account-confirmation-eu@amazon.co.uk’
saying
’ We are conducting a review of your account. Within 14 days, please upload the information requested to our secure document upload page. If we do not receive this information within 14 days, your account may be closed.’

Genuine?

I would say scam. Amazon don’t close accounts although they do suspend them. The urgency implied in the email is a typical trait of scams.

The email address looks genuine as it ends in @amazon.co.uk but probably only appears as that, the actual origin email is something else.

Hi all,

Thanks for your comments on this thread.

@peppercornbooks this email is genuine. As correctly mentioned by @Anglozone in her linked thread the message is from Amazon.

Thanks,
Jessica

Except…! I have just clicked on the link and it goes to an Amazon page saying

So now what?!

With so many scams about and constantly being told not to ever click links in emails, wouldnt it make more sense to send such messages via the internal messaging system amazon has instead of general email?
By all means send an email - but tell people to log into their account and deal with it that way and not via clicking links in the email itself.
