EFN coming back?

Just had this from Amazon. This could be great news, but any idea how it would work with post-brexit issues?

Hello,

You are invited to the relaunch of the European Fulfilment Network between the UK and the EU starting March 2022. This will allow you to sell to customers located on the other side of the customs border using your local inventory.

You can enrol into EFN between the UK and the EU. To enrol, go to: https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/fba/settings/index.html#/xbf-settings.

This is subject to European Fulfilment Network fees: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/G/02/selldot/migration/rate-cards/211021-FBA-Rate-Card-UK.pdf?

How it works:

• Starting March 2022, eligible international offers will go live in phases until May 2022 via the European Fulfilment Network. You will receive an email to confirm your offer enrolment is complete.

• Ensure that your prices reflect European Fulfilment Network fees and VAT by adjusting the prices manually or by using Build International Listings pricing rules: https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/help/202121610 to adjust automatically. ASINs that are listed through Build International Listings with the “Same as source marketplace” pricing rule will be automatically updated to the pricing rule “Same as source marketplace, adjusted for taxes and fees”.

• We will prioritise fulfilling from local inventory if you store inventory in both the UK and EU or if you use Pan-European FBA. Domestic fulfilment fees or European Fulfilment Network fees will then apply where applicable.

Requirements:

To sell between the UK and the EU using the European Fulfilment Network, you must have the following:

• Offers for your products in both the UK and the EU (Germany, France, Italy and/or Spain)

• Inventory stored in local fulfilment centres.

• Both UK and EU Seller Central accounts

• FBA Shipping Programmes and Export: https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/fba/settings/index.html#/ settings enabled from inventory source countries to the destination stores.

Your Shipping programmes and export settings may be automatically updated to enable cross-border fulfilment.

To prevent all of your eligible offers from being activated, opt out by 11:59 p.m. (GMT) on February 23, 2022.

For more information on opting out and other topics, go to the European Fulfilment Network between the UK and the EU help page

Hello,
Same message here.

I don’t understand what will happen to the stocks? We have stock in both the UK and the EU.
Will we see them differently as before? or will they unite?

If they unite, how do we know the products are coming out? either from the UK or from the EU.

If we run out of stock in the UK, products will come from the EU, but at a different cost, with EFN extra cost.
How do we know if stocks will merge?

Or what will be the procedure?

We have to be very careful about prices because if we sell a product in the UK for 6.99 GBP and the shipping fees are 0.85 gbp, we can’t sell it at this price if it comes through EFN from the EU because the EFN fee is 4.45 GBP?

I think it will be a total mess if the stocks are not separated or it would be great to be able to set 2 prices, one for domestic shipping and one for EFN shipping.

how do you think it will be?

if you are in PAN EU it`s easy

We do Pan EU, and originally thought of this as a way to ensure products stay on sale even if we run out of stock in either EU or UK. But with the extra level of fees combined with the potential confusion on stock and pricing I think we’re going to opt out.

Got this today and I don’t think you need to be VAT registered to take part in it.

I have always had really good sales in the past from France and Germany so I will be looking into this and seeing if I can make this work for me.

@Jessica - This would be a good time to do a Webinar on EFN, would help sellers make up their minds whether it will work for them! If you could pass on the suggestion?

It is really expensive. On top of the fees Amazon charges sellers they also charge the buyer some additional postage of 4 or 5 euros.

It does not work well for cheap items. I have some items where the customer pays 24 euros and I net about 7 euros.

I was so shocked I asked them if this was correct and they confirmed a couple of weeks ago that it was.

We would have to put up our prices quite a bit to cover the additional €3-4 fulfillment costs per item.

I got this mail too but I confused about the VAT and I asked to Amazon but they answered with part of that page:
"You generally aren’t required to register for VAT in the destination store when fulfilling between the UK and the EU. For business-to-consumer sales that do not exceed €150, Amazon must account for VAT, which the customer pays at checkout.

For such sales in the EU above €150, and all business-to-business sales, the customer is the importer of record and pays any import VAT and duties. Amazon will collect an estimate of these import fees from the customer at checkout to remit these amounts on the customer’s behalf."

Would we still need to have a designated ‘EU Responsible Person’?
