How do returns work for EFN?
Hi,
We are currently using PAN-FBA, but looking to move to EFN and just store in Germany. I’ve had enough of Avalaras shoddy work and practices, so we are going to just keep our German registration and sell everything out of there.
My question though - what happens to returns? For example, someone in France purchases a unit, and its sent to them. They then return it for whatever reason. My understanding is that it ends up going back to a local FCm not the origin one?
Obviously I don’t want to get caught up in stupid VAT laws of us “holding stock” in another country that we are not registered in, so I’m pre-empting this!
Pre-Brexit I have found some forum posts on it, but nothing definitive. Does anyone know for sure how this process works?
Thanks!
Andy

FBA returns go back the an FC in the coutry of the purchaser. Last year people were getting marketplaces suspended when stock was returned to a country where they weren’t VAT registered. Personally, I wouldn’t risk it.
Also have you looked at the rate card for EFN? It’s massively more expensive than PAN-EU FBA. Pretty much double the cost.

I’ve been using Avask for the past 4 years with no issues. I don’t think they’re cheaper than Avalara but they are a better service.
