USPS labels purchased from Amazon are being reused
Since last week we have been facing an issue where Amazon-provided USPS labels are showing to be delivered in December 2024 when the labels were purchased in the 2nd week of February 2025.

Yes. This happens. They regularly recycle the tracking numbers.

Same thing happened to me over on pirate ship... I think a lot of USPS tracking numbers get used up over the holidays due to the increased traffic?

This happened to us today with 50+ packages with labels purchased through Buy Shipping. Naturally the Karens are already messaging that they received fake tracking numbers and want an immediate refund.

So this has been happening for weeks, that's a bummer. I'm just experiencing this now for the first time. Were the packages that you had this happen to successfully delivered? Did the tracking on USPS' site ever update to be your order instead of the old one?

We are experiencing the same. Essentially all orders shipped on Monday, 2-24-2025 via USPS Ground Advantage (<1lb) using Amazon Shipping Services reflect a 'recycled' Amazon assigned USPS trackingID. These 'recycled' USPS tracking IDs reflect within USPS tracking system as packages shipped/delivered in December 2024.
We have 56 of 67 orders from yesterday's shipping (Monday, 2-24-2025) experiencing this - i.e. Amazon provided USPS trackingID assigned through Amazon Buy Shipping Services displaying 'recycled' tracking information from December 2024 within USPS.
Moderator attention/input would be greatly appreciated.

Same is happening here, but it was only for labels purchased yesterday (or those are the only ones I've heard about). Customers also think the items are mis-delivered, in the past..........

I came here specifically to post this issue. A buyer reached out yesterday about a tracking number that shows delivered in December but was just shipped using Amazon buy shipping in Feb. Not even sure what to tell the buyer.

We just started to see this happen today for 3 labels we printed using USPS Ground Advantage and we we only caught this because we scan each label after it prints for our own tracking and all 3 labels showed delivered a couple of weeks ago some showing early Feb 2025 and some mid February 2025. Had to cancel 3 labels and re-shipped via UPS. Twice the cost but at least happy to catch those. Hope this is resolved soon. This is going to be a huge nightmare for unaware sellers.

The answer received is both amazon buy shipping and usps are aware of this issue and investigating the root cause. We received our first case for order shipped out on Feb 22. I am sure there are more.
