"TRANSFER ACCOUNT' ... MASSIVE CONFUSIONS (changing legal entity from SOLE TRADER to LIMITED COMPANY)
I have tried ( 3 times in a week) to transfer my seller account From Sole trader to a Limited company ( same owner) via TRANSFER ACCOUNT option, without any success so far, with selling account got deactivated every time.
Every time i Press the CONTINUE button at the bottom of "TRANSFER ACCOUNT" button( after reading the agreement), My account is deactivated and every time, Next page i see is this : INVALID CHARGE METHOD. asking to assign charge method.
Even though i already had the charge method.
MOREOVER,
Not ONLY CHAGE METHOD, i also instantly receive notifications that my account is DEACTIVATED and i need to update "BUSINESS and Contact info" "DEPOSIT METHOD" as well.
I thought "TRANSFER ACCOUNT" option will be a single, smooth and seamless Workflow, However, it is not. Soon after i press CONTINUE BUTTON at the bottom of " TRANSFER ACCOUNT" after reading agreement, it takes too long to show the next page and when i see the next page ( i.e. INVALID CHARGE METHOD) it seems like TRANSFER ACCOUNT process is Lost and you re landed somewhere else and there is no way to know which charge method i need to enter now, Previous Sole trader one OR New, Limited company's one. No hint, not guidance. Totally isolated from the process.
Also, when i reach "Business and Contact info" and "deposit method" pages separately via the Home page/dashboard's Red Banners, No guidance or hint which info i need to enter ... existing one, ( sole trader) or new one ( Limited company)
Any info/help/experience from anyone will be appreciated. Thanks !

Have you entered the new charge method details? Clearly they have to be new, they can’t be the same as the previous ones as it is a limited company.

@Seller_5yoXu27m4d7XW Yes, was going to say the same as the above post from Disenchanted Seller - if you are now a Ltd. company, the bank account needs to be in the name of the company not your own name.

Although there has not yet been a moderator reply in this thread, I think this case would still be useful as internal feedback if a moderator later reviews it.
The main issue does not seem to be only verification itself, but how the Transfer Account workflow is presented to sellers.
In this case, the seller expected a guided process for changing from sole trader to limited company, but instead experienced immediate account deactivation after pressing Continue, followed by an Invalid Charge Method message and separate prompts to update Business and Contact Info and Deposit Method.
The confusing part is that the workflow does not clearly tell the seller whether they should now be entering their previous sole trader details or the new limited company details. From the seller side, it becomes very hard to tell whether this is a normal verification step or a broken system loop.
The seller has since confirmed that the account was eventually verified successfully with the limited company details, so the process may be functioning in the background. But the way it appears on the front end is stressful and unclear.
It also seems worth raising a wider point: when a workflow like this is unclear, it likely creates avoidable Seller Support contacts as well. If most sellers eventually complete the process only after confusion, repeated checking, or contacting support, then even a functioning backend may still be creating unnecessary workload because the UI does not explain the state transition properly.
If a moderator does review this later, it may be worth passing back as workflow feedback, because even when the transfer eventually succeeds, the current process can easily make sellers think something has gone wrong.

@Seller_5yoXu27m4d7XW - for a moderator to look into this you need to tag some of them in to your post, as mentioned by @Seller_kSZCywEhJQQ8Jearlier - no moderator will see this unless you do. Also, have you opened a case with Seller Support ? - you need to do that and quote the case ID for the mods.

From what is described here, this does not look like a simple case of one field being entered incorrectly.
The visible issue is that the Transfer Account process seems to lose its own structure as soon as the seller clicks Continue. Instead of staying inside one guided legal-entity change workflow, the seller is pushed into deactivation plus separate warnings for Invalid Charge Method, Business and Contact Info, and Deposit Method. From the seller side, that makes it very difficult to tell whether the process is progressing normally in the background or whether the account has dropped into a bad loop.
What makes this worth looking at more carefully is that the seller later confirmed the account was eventually verified successfully with the limited company details. So this may not be a complete system failure. It may be a case where a real reverification process is happening, but the front end presents it in such a fragmented way that sellers experience it as an error state.
That is where I think there is overlap with other verification cases. In both types of case, the seller may have proper paperwork and still run into a workflow that is hard to interpret. The issue is not always whether documents are genuine, but whether the account state, entity change, and verification logic are aligned in the way Amazon expects.
So I would separate the practical point from the system point.
On the practical side, if the account is moving from sole trader to limited company, then the bank and billing details usually need to match the new company rather than the previous sole trader profile.
But on the system side, the bigger question is why the workflow does not make that clear when the seller is redirected into those pages. If sellers are repeatedly being deactivated and shown scattered warnings during a formal Transfer Account process, then the problem is not only verification itself, but also how that transition is being surfaced.
The evidence that seems most useful here is:
the exact wording of the warnings,
whether old or new entity details were entered on each attempt,
how long reactivation took each time,
and whether Seller Support gave a clear explanation or only generic instructions.
If a moderator reviews this, the useful question may be whether this sequence is expected behaviour for a sole trader to limited company transfer, and whether those later pages are meant to be understood as part of the same reverification process rather than as separate unrelated errors.
If it is expected, then the workflow probably needs clearer guidance. If it is not expected, then this may point to a broken handoff between Transfer Account and the wider account verification system.

I transferred to a new company last week and I was deactivated for 12 hours, even though I changed everything in the system, it did not work so I contacted seller support who were not very knowledgeable. best time to call them is early evening and you may get through to Ireland where they are more useful. I was verified within 24 hours even though I did not receive any notifications. Bank account took 2 days to verify which i think was very quick as previous changes have taken weeks. Dont do any other changes until you speak to someone at Amazon who will guide you through
