Prep requirements - polybagging

Hey all,

So a few months back I sent a new printer toner cartridge into FBA…an item I had sent many times before. The item sold and there was no problem until I received a performance notification for not not polybagging the item.

I was quite taken aback by the idea that an item in a box - in its retail packaging as if it were sold in a story - would require polybagging; that an item in retail packaging that, within the box is itself in a sealed bubble poly bag, would need polybagging. Not to mention that there are many other similar products, sold in the same packaging, that do not require a polybag.

I contacted Seller Support and asked them about this and was told that the item does, indeed, require polybagging. When I asked the rep for a link to this requirement I was told that they cannot share this with me, but it does require bagging. I then complained that I received a performance notification for a violation that I could not not know was a violation because they are hiding that information from me…

Anyhow, is there any way to challenge this or to request that it be changed? I asked the seller-central rep and all she said was “send it into FBA and hope it gets through”

Surely if you are selling toner and it is boxed, it would come within a bag inside the box?

What exactly was the performance notification? Was it for receiving the stock or something else?

This was several months back so I am not exactly sure. I seem to remember it being a problem with shipment and not a seller central notification. All I know is that it automatically barred me from selling any iterations of that product until I viewed prep-guidlines.

This is all very odd and, if you look at the listings, pretty much all the sellers are mfn where there used to be many FBA!
