Which royal mail tracked service to use to avoid vtr

Good evening just looking at this VTR stuff and the demise of stamps and franking option. Decided that we will now have to send our low value items using the drop down box “buy shipping” from amazon(Royal Mail) . Would appreciate any advise on which one to select to avoid VTR rate issue? Cant see clear advise on the forums.

Many thanks

ALL postage bought on amazon is acceptable for VTR

Hi The_Little_Shop we buy our shipping through buy shipping but the RM invoice us directly from our business account, same place we get our free labels

surely forcing us to buy postage thru amazon and not with another supplier i.e. the post office is an illegal restrictive practice and against competitiion rules…

To those who buy RM CRL postage via Amazon route, do you also hear back from buyers reporting Amazon sending emails to claim back purchase amount as either RM delivery driver didn’t scanned OR late?

This certainty happens with sellers purchasing RM CRL shipping from OBA C&D

Thanks

Actually the email confused me a bit. We send mostly parcels or CRL but for letter sized things we use BPL as some are much cheaper. At Christmas we have a lot of BPL but not enough to affect VTR. For all items we use c&d but manually change BPL on amazon to stamps/franking immediately after sending so they don’t affect VTR.
The email said ‘Seller-fulfilled shipments sent using untracked Royal Mail 1st and 2nd class letter stamps and franking will be exempted from the Valid Tracking Rate calculation if you buy them through Amazon Buy Shipping.’
It doesn’t actually say (or I couldn’t find) where it actually says stamps/franking will no longer be ok through seller fulfilled items not using buy shipping? I decided they were being a bit clever with their wording and it wouldn’t change unless it was a bigger % of BPL. I’m thinking if I carry on manually changing the BPL to stamps on Amazon after sending c&d it’s still going to be fine?

I use RM Click & Drop and only recently reactivated, for our C&D account to update Amazon Directly. This seems to be working without affecting VTR

We still successfully use a franking machine and a 2nd class letter is 51p, it’s quick and easy. Now we will have to print everything on a laser and tick to envelopes and pay 68p per item to send. Will just add the extra cost on and probably start using small and light more efficiently. A shame as this will add a significant amount of time to our packing etc.

There is an old saying ‘‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’’ I wonder if anyone at Amazon has ever heard it ?

Do you currently select Stamps / Franking under the Royal Mail Tab when selecting ?
