Fraud in the jewelry space - continues and growing
So the fraud in the jewelry space continues. Amazon has clearly decided to allow the space to become over run with listings for gold that is not gold, it started with hoop earrings, and has expanded to wedding bands and crosses. Before that it was "moissanite lab created diamonds' which according to the FTC is "unfair and deceptive.
Several mods have tried to fix this and several have failed
@SEAmod was close but nope, Amazon decided to allow this practice of deception to continue.
@Michelle_Amazon said "Amazon would never tolerate this.
We honest sellers are expected to abide by the FTC and Amazons own jewelry policies. The offending sellers who are off shore are apparently not.
Worse consumers are being duped daily on Amazon - even if Amazon eventually enforces their polices and shuts this down, what of the consumers who think they have gold jewelry that is actually gold plated base metal? The right thing to do would be notify them and make them whole, will Amazon do the right thing?

It gets way worse than fake jewelry.
I just finished removing 134 sellers from the platform. Im not exaggerating that number. It ended up being exactly 134.
I did detective work and found that there is a supplier on 1688 telling these sellers that they own the design when its an exact counterfeit of another brand.
Its a counterfeit of a hair dye product but...a really bad one. I sent the test buy to my fathers house and he was scared that it might explode if he kept it to long so he tossed it in the garbage outside of his house.
You can rest assured that I will be doing my part to ensure that honest sellers like yourself are protected but I fear this problem is way worse than anyone can imagine.
FYI - I had to remove these sellers off of counterfeit claims due to poor trademark management by the brand. Test buys are much more certain that the seller will get removed but if you report an entire listing for copyright infringement, the infringing seller can file a DMCA counter claim
I looked into this and it turns out that these sellers sign their life away when filing a DMCA counter claim. If it turns out they are selling counterfeit inventory, the DMCA counter claim gives Amazon permission to hold onto funds if the person issuing the complaint decides to sue the Amazon seller. Amazon will suspend the account, withold funds, and disburse as needed to any party that rightfully sues the seller. It does not matter if they are international sellers.
In addition, having an attorney issue a temporary restraining order against the seller and sending a copy to Amazon helps a ton.

"Offshore" sellers are shielded from following the rules. Soon enough Amzn will just be another Alibaba with unbranded, IP infringing junk.

It is going to take reporting this to the FTC. And if you have evidence you reported this to Amazon, send that also. And then Amazon will also be held responsible and fined.

Been dealing with nonsense like this for 10 years. AWS web services is billed as the most secure online hosting but any overseas fool can change your brand name, then your asin dies.
Expanding on Amazon is great until it isnt.
Good Luck
