Ensure accuracy of your emergency contact number
Amazon uses your emergency contact phone number to contact you if there is a critical issue concerning your account.
Reasons why we may need to contact you include:
– Risk of deactivation of your account
– A problem with one of your listings
– A critical issue requiring your immediate attention
To check if the number we have on file is accurate, go to Seller Central, navigate to Settings, and select Notification preferences . Your emergency notification number is listed under Emergency notifications on this page. This number will not be visible to buyers and can be different from other phone numbers on file. We recommend that you provide a contact who is knowledgeable about your Amazon account and the products you sell.

They have phones us a total of 4 times regarding urgent issues…
one was at 5am on a Sunday the others were between 7 and 9am on Saturdays.
Luckily I’m a gamer and hadn’t gone to bed by then…
Whenever they do call the emergency contact they only ever let it ring 3 or 4 times max, they usually call to let you know your account is about to be suspended and give you a 2-3 day window to submit a PoA before the suspension hits, it usually hits instantly if you miss the call.
So make sure the number you provide is for someone with a fast phone finger who’s likely to be awake at 5am on a weekend… They also usually ask for security verification (last 4 digits of your card or bank account, main email address, etc.) so this person needs to remember those.
I’ve never known them call for either of these…

The contact number is limited so I cannot enter mine, I am in Bulgaria but on all platforms we only have the option to enter a local phone number.

I can’t add my phone number because it is already on my personal Amazon buying account. I get a message that the number is already in use on another account. So what do I do?

The only call I’ve had was from someone that was struggling to speak/understand English, asking if I wanted to sign up for FBA.
Told them that due to all the issues with Amazon theft, fake refunds etc that NO, I didn’t. She then said so would I like to sign up for FBA…
