VAT for Indian Sellers Sending Inventory to FBA

Dear Amazon Seller Community,

I'm an Indian seller looking to send my inventory to FBA. I'm unsure about the VAT requirements for this process.

Do I need to register for VAT in the UK.

Any insights or experiences from other Indian sellers would be greatly appreciated.

If you wish to store your goods in UK for FBA then yes, you must be registered for VAT here. I would suggest that you do not send anything until your account is fully verified and your VAT registration is complete, as you could end up with large storage bills. Both account verification and VAT registration can take quite some time.
