Stop a "wrong item received" return going back to inventory

Hi All

Ive sold an item and the customer is saying they received the wrong item. I have sold several more of these since with no issue so im expeting this to be a one off.

Can i stop this one item going back to inventory and getting it returned for inspection without having to create a removal order for all my stock once its returned
