If Amazon generated the return label, then the shipment is covered under Amazon’s carrier contract, not yours. That means you are not liable for the loss.

What you need to do is:

1. Go to Orders → Manage Returns

2. Find the return in question

3. Click “File SAFE-T Claim”

Because:

• The buyer used an Amazon pre-paid return label

• The carrier EVRi was contracted by Amazon, not you

• Therefore the loss is Amazon’s responsibility, not yours

In the SAFE-T claim, simply state:

“Buyer used Amazon-issued return label. The parcel was lost in transit by EVRi. Requesting reimbursement under Amazon’s carrier contract.”

Amazon will then:

• Reimburse you the full item value, including tax

• Leave the buyer refund in place (they are not charged)

Time limit:

You must file the SAFE-T claim within 60 days of the refund being issued.

What you wrote sounds good, but in reality, it's not. I've read that once the seller issues a refund, you can no longer file a T-safe claim. Firstly, and secondly, sales support wrote to me that I should contact EVRI and they will pay me compensation. From what I understand, it's a maximum of 20 pounds. Selling on Amazon is risky—I prefer eBay.

My experience mirrors this. I could not claim on Evri with an Amazn issued lable. Evi said that I have no proof of buying the delivery and Amazon would have to claim and provide proof of purchase in their name to claim.

SAFE-T claims just take up time and energy

Amazon state we need to claim from Evri, but the contract is with Amazon and not us. Evri have emailed us to say we need to notify Amazon and they need to claim. And so it goes on, repeated responses to SAFE-T team is just blocking our claim and we have no way of reversing this. There needs to be someone at Amazon who we can appeal to and get a sensible and correct answer. Who can sort this?

Hello @Seller_ofkaq656XneBp,

As per our Pre-paid returns for Fulfilled by Merchant orders help page, here are the correct steps when a return is lost or damaged in transit and you used pre-paid label:

"You will be responsible for filing a claim directly with the carrier if a return is lost or damaged in transit. If this happens, and the item was not refunded through Refund at First Scan, process a full refund to the customer and file a claim directly with the carrier to receive a reimbursement."

Please contact Evri to file your claim with them.

Regards,

Sakura
